Hi everyone. i am from Mongolia. have interest about metal detecting. This spring going to take chance to find gold with detector. I am going to buy White's GMT but still confusing. It is looks like very suitable at Gobi desert where hot rocks is not so much. But my intended destination is North Mongolia where i think hot rock and mineral soils is a lot.
Anyways good luck to everyone.

best luck

Yeah, It was easy beside language difficulty. Embarrassed
Last week i took first trip to gold field which is Desert and receive my first gold with total of 5 small flakes. But I didnt found that. Local guy who using detector a few years agreed to search few flakes for us. He found that flakes. So it is my first gold but not my first findings. He was using GMT. From my view he was swinging his coil too fast Detecting. detecting at normal walking rate (it should be slow rate? isnt it.) swinging like zig zag (seach coil should be overlapping. isnt it ?). But I didnt say anything because he found gold and have several years of experience. I only have information dont have any real experience. ....... time to go ..later i will write detailed post about my first trip and picture of 5 flakes  Grin(but it is very small)

You are correct.   The GMT is a good machine, but most people swing metal detectors too fast and do not overlap the coil sweep  which means they don't get a chance to hear most of the targets.
