Hello  Just joined today after looking online for Metal detecting clubs in NE Ohio.  I live in Youngstown-Warren area and my mom and I are just starting in the metal detecting hobby.  Wondered if anyone knows of any good locales to hunt in this area or Sharon or Greenville, PA area?  Thanks!

Lot of olf French and Indiana wars stuff around that whole area. Erie has old fort erie that you can research where some old camp sites used to be. Up and down french creek. old farmhouses around there, ask to search their fields things like that. My wife and I are from Utica, Venengo Coounty but live in Indianapolis. Welcome again.

Thanks for the welcomes all!  I am going to be searching in my local area when weather is a little better (I have rheumatoid and it doesn't cooperate well with cool downs :-)  I got permission from our local school district to search an old school grounds that is no longer being used.  The building was built around 1900 and there was a mercantile next to it as well as an old gas station...still has some old farming equipment in the back of the soccer and baseball fields too!  Will let ya'll know what I find...Happy hunting to all! Grin

Welcome from Arizona.    I used to live up in your neck of the woods (the Firestone neighborhood of Akron).   Beautiful country with lots of historic sites
