I've had a life long dream of metal detecting and treasure hunting. I just bought a Mineleb Safari and a Whites V3i. I've located a few ghost towns and old home sights but am still learning the tricks of the detectors. If anyone knows of some old ghost towns that I can check out with my detector let me know. Thanks Shawn

Welcome from Arizona.    Get yourself some old road maps (the oldest you can find) and compare them to the new maps.....you'll find ghost towns for sure.

Hey shawn,
Welcome! Where you from in Washington? I'm in Tacoma and just recently started detecting. I have been doing some research on the ghost towns around here. I went up to the Franklin Mine a couple weeks ago. I didn't make it to the town itself but my wife and I hiked around for a few hours. Never did do any detecting while we were there. I have found a couple places that I want to check out this summer. Lester is one place I want to check out and there are a few other ghost towns right around there. In the near future I am hoping to go out to the grisdale area and see what I can find there.
I hope I have given you some ideas.
BW
