hey all just thought i'd take the time to say  Hello been a long time lurker on this site but only joined yesterday, i'm a complete novice at all things treasure hunting just romanticize a lot about the idea of someday becoming a real life Indiana Jones, have never used a metal detector and have no experience diving but this is the year i plan to learn and hopefully sometime next year I'll be going to Indonesia and diving the reefs also wouldn't mind diving a wreck or 2!  treasure I'd most like to find? Flor de la mar  Pray

Welcome!

There are several members here from Indonesia who can advise you on what you can and cannot do with a detector there. On my lse visit, the laws were tightening and permits were required for just about everything. Your travel agent won't be able to help you but I feel certain that the folks here on the forum can do you some good.

Hello, and Welcome from Utah!
I was PADI certified in a swimming pool several years back. Wreck diving is a whole different certification you'll need to go down and do dives with a dive master. Getting stuck in a wreck or having something cut your equipement would be disasterous. Just like underwater cave diving is a different certification as well.
Good luck with the training on that!
