Go Up Go Down

Headed to the Outer Banks next week (Duck and Corolla area) and was planning on renting an MD from a local store. The rent a Garrett Ace 150. Is this going to be "good enough" equipment for finding anything on the beach?

I know we all have to dig our share of pull tops, but if someone could tell me if they've had any luck at all up there, let me know. I don't expect you to give you information on your "good spots"!

Any help is appreciated!
SC

Just dig all your signals, work in all metal mode get a head set and listen for those faint signals. You might find some old ship parts or even gold. The outer banks had a lot of ship recks in the old days....Good Luck....DW

Well, i'm happy to report that I've had a blast....First strike was a 3 oz fishing weight! Searched the beach and found a 20mm brass casing, a wheat penny, a 1917 dime, a few pulltops, and a bunch of wire from washed out sand fencing....

I'm now hoooked!......and have ordered a Garrett 2500 on the advice of a couple  beach swingers that i've met while on the beach. I can't wait to get back here in May to sweep  the beach again! I'll be practicing at home in the meantime to learn what my new machine is "telling me"!
