Hello everyone. I am going to purchase a metal detector very soon so I joined this forum to get advice on which may be the best metal detector available for 20 bucks or so!!! LOL! NOT! I am interested in searching for gold nuggets in the SW deserts of the US and coins, jewlery in parks. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies!
I have been exploring historic, archaic sites at remote places all my life without a metal detector! I love the deserts of the SW and spend all my free time roaming them. I am going to purchase a metal detector as in my "old age" and several motorcycle crashes, I just can't seem to cover the territory (on foot) I once could. Metal detecting will be a blast and slow me down in order to "smell the roses" so to speak....and maybe find some cool treasures during my travels.
I herby promiss to not post like a fiend again!
