Go Up Go Down

Hi, I am Nick, living in Australia. I got interested in metal detectors a few years ago when I found a circuit diagram of a metal detector. I've been fittling with electronic circuits since over 20 years ago, but not with metal detectors. Eventually I built the Hammerhead metal detector, designed by Carl Moreland. It is functional (worked better than an older model of commercial unit, can't remember its name).
At present I intend to build a modular PI metal detector, where I can change specific blocks without having to rebuild a whole board. I intend to replace the single opamp input amplifier from Hammerhead with two opamps with lower gain each, because I found out that overdriving the inputs of the opamp significantly increases the response time. I hope to come up with some nicer audio module too and also use a PIC microcontroller and a LCD for generating the pulses and setting variable widths and delays between pulses. That part is already functional.
Another project I indend to start is a Tesoro circuit. At the moment I have less than five posts, so I can't see any attachments on this web site. After gaining access to schematics and attachments, hopefully I will have more to talk about.

Cheers, Nick
