Hello-

I live in the Northshore area of Chicago.  I've been T-Hunting for three years now...not for any monetary value but simply the thrill of finding something cool and old.  The history of the area I hunt has always fascinatated me.  I have a full time corp type job so I try my best to get out for a few hours on the weekends and these late summer eves.   JJ Abrams (the director and writer) calls his secret to writing his best stories the "Mystery Box,".... it's the mystery, the secret, the unknown entity that his reader and/or viewer must try and unravel as the story is being told (His show LOST is a great example)  Anyway, it's my belief that young children have a natural born curiosity to search, discover, and find.  Unfortunately thought, many of us loose that strong sense of curiosity and discovery as we grow older.  I am forty six years old now and I discovered this fantastic hobby just a few years ago by accident.  While digging a hole for a plant in my yard I found a small cache of coins buried...My home is over a hundred years old.  From there it started.  Now, I am hooked and have been since I purchased my first detector three years ago.  Currently, I am strongly considering a Whites V3i.  No doubt some large cash to throw down on a detector, but from my readings it seems like the best all around machine.

Anyway, I look forward to posting my finds and learning and sharing with you all.

-Nobes
