Welcome aboard from Australia!

Ideas for the Philippines? Well, if I owned them, I'd do my best to turn them into a tourist haven, a place to go where you can relax and unwind. You have a bazillion miles of coastline so the opportunity is there. All you need a good roads to get around.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi from Chicago. I just received my Las Filipinas Spanish peso 1895 from a dealer in Spain. Very pleased with having a piece of history. That same design was used to mint the Puerto Rico peso. Lovely piece of art indeed. Is that peso easier to find in Phillipines?

Thanx for the reply. I'm American living in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. Tried researching history for here, but very minimal. Will keep posting here on any updates. Been here 11 years...Ed

Hello, Ed......welcome from Arizona.   The one thing I would not do is look for lost Yamashita treasure---too much competition and too many wild stories with too little supporting evidence.   On the other hand there are several other treasure leads that have been discussed in previous posts that could pan out with some effort and perserverence.   You might want to go to our home page and scroll down the list of boards....you'll probably find some interesting discussions in Treasur Leads, Legendary Treasures, and Treasure Hunting abroad.

Thanx BitburgAngie. Like you I am not going after Yamashita. My plan right now is a local beach here. Every year at Easter thousands of tourists flock to this beach. Stages are setup for concerts, and other activities. Next week will be my time. Will post here on my success.
