I bought my 1st detector, a Whites Coinmaster IV in 1972 and took it away to college. Found an 18k gold wedding ring in SC along with regular coins. In 78, I bought a used Garrett Groundhog discriminator. Did a little hunting and then didn't do much until earlier this year when I bought a Whites M6. I've found quite a bit this year including 4 rings and about 70 in change. One ring was found in my own yard in CT, 1 in Florida, and others in local parks.
Last Saturday, I went to a park which was covered with snow and found a war nickel. The ground hadn't frozen yet. Now we have more snow and the ground is frozen but I'm waiting for a thaw so I can get back out.
