Hello, my name is Randy and im a NOS member that lost url until i received an email and am now back. I enjoy electronic troubleshooting and repair, amateur/shortwave radio, and guitar. I recently found an old garrett metal locator at a hamfest in very bad shape but i now have it working. The internal meter was crushed and i rebuilt it with new windings and superglue to the case and the circuit boards were broken in several places but it was fun working on it and getting to look into the circuitry of a metal detector for the first time. I would like to learn about all the various types and circuitry involved and maybe build an inventory of parts to repair them in my spare time. For now i am going to scour the post and catch up on the reading here, i enjoy your site, it seems like you have a lot of good people here.

Thanks, i should be here often, i now have an old garrett vlf/tr locator i found at a hamfest and got working but i have not had enough time to get it out and use it yet. Been working alot of hours lately but im anxious to try it out. I bought it and an old panasonic rf4800 that didnt work for 20 dollars and got them both working.

Welcome back....Sure are glad you pointed out the improvements Christian has made.   Seems he still has a few more up his sleeve so look forward to seeing more improvements on the site (but don't think you have to go away just to see them happen  Grin )

The main reason i was away was my old computer crashed and i couldn't remember the url, i searched for it once but didn't find it and then just moved on to trying to find my other favorites. One day i received an email from the site and that's how i found it again.
