Hi- new to this website. I'm in So Cal. Beach & Water hunter primarily. Been doin it 6 years now. Found my share of goodies.
I'm a Minelab guy almost always. I own 5 Minelabs and one HH PI.  Found the Minelab product far superior to the rest, tried them all, always went back to Minelab as nothing beats it here in So Cal as far as I can tell.  Always open to going out with new folk so if you're out here, lets meet up.

I work the beaches here in Southern California too. How deep do the Minelabs go? I know I have gone behind other detector users and picked up a lot of things they missed. Two older gentleman in particular stand out because one was using and Excalibur II and the other was using an X-Terra. I watched them both detect one beach that a lot of tourists frequent and after they were done, I went over the same ground and found a lot of stuff that they missed. Their technique seemed alright (not swinging the detector like a weed-whacker), they just weren't digging all that much and the stuff they did dig up was garbage (I know because they just threw it back on the ground?!). As for the water, I have never seen anyone else out there (just me and the sharks!).
