Hi,
I'm a newcomer to treasure hunting and I've been surfing the net trying to find helpful tips. I just joined today and I've spent a few hours snooping around, asking questions, etc. In just that short time I have gathered some great information as well as great advice (in a very timely manner I might add). Greetings New Mexico!

I hunt for coins, jewelry, relics...just about anything. I like being suprised.

Well, I went down to East beach yesterday. I didn't arrive there until after 5 pm hoping maybe some of the crowd would be leaving. No such luck...it was packed. It was really too crowded for me to feel comfortable swinging a metal detector. Oh well, I had brought my dog with me and he and I splashed in the water for a while...it's all good.
BTW...I was happy to see none of the oil spill has made it this way yet.  Cool

I am waiting until October to hit the beach. I went to Huntington beach just a week ago for some sun and fun, It took 45 Min's to drive their (not bad) but and hour to get into the parking lot. I am just go to wait until summer over, its just to crazy.

If your job situation will allow it, try hitting the beach BEFORE the crowd gets there.   If you wait until the end of the season, you'll lose out to folks like Seldom.
