Hi..just got my metal detector today.  I can't wait to go out and do some searching. It's just a hobby I have always wanted to do but my carreer dictated difference. I believe that being a member of this forum will give me more knowledge of the ins and out of treasure hunting.  Dan Detecting

Hi Dan and Welcome from Utah!
I saw your picture on there - you burning trash outside, or what's going on with that picture?

Yes, I was doing a burn run(navy slang) in the back of my yard.  I have too many trees and every year I have to rake and burn them.  I am just starting on the gold quest.  I would like to travel to the west to see what I can find.  So there.  You be good.. tks

HI, my plans are to start finding gold, silver, and costs or whatever get in the way.  I just bought a Garrett AT Pro but don't know if I make the right choice.  Too many detectors out there and every one has their own opinion of them.  What's your?..

Welcome from Arizona.    You can do a heck of a lot worse than the detector you picked.   The real key with a good detector is to take the time to actually learn and master the thing.  Remember it is a tool.   As with any tool, the mastery of the tool depends in very large part on the mastery of what goes on between your own two ears.   Be patient; be deligent and expect to learn something every time you go out with that detector.

Hi all, and thanks for the warm welcome.  Man most of you live in places that might have gold or silver finding.  I live out east in North Carolina.  Property is always off limits here.  The Civil War battlefield are also off limits.  Bout the only place I can think, is the beach or pulbic places.  I know there a bunch of 1800 houses left abandon out here but again, I have to locate the owners.  ok enough of me crying.  tks
