I found this forum searching for an online photo of my old place in Ophir.  I was concerned reading about mining activity in the area.  Any status on Ophir is of great interest to me.  I found the place deer hunting with buddies when I lived in Salt Lake City, I saw a beer sign and for sale sign on the place.  I'll attach photos.  I lived there in the summer of 1980, no electricity, running water (I had to run out and get it), bathed in the stream until that dried up in August.  Very quiet up there, except for the occasional tourist wandering in and asking me what I was doing here, they thought it was a ghost town.

I live in San Diego now, left Utah in 83.  Only thing I found there was Lucky Lager beer cans.  I'm sure a metal detector would have been interesting.  In 1980 I got a job at Alta and lived there for 2 years, then moved to San Diego.
