Hi there! I am wetting my feet with thunting, and as an adventurous travelling tour-guide I am keen to see what is happening on the Treasure Front. I am currently operating in the kwa-Zulu Natal and Mozambique areas, leading dive tours to exotic areas. We have explored many wreck sites, but respect the Admiralty laws and tend to retain a hands-off policy. However there are certain sites that do not have historical values, such as old sunken piers where old steamers and tugs were repaired decades ago, and where there is a fascinating collection of old 'junk' that consists of brass and other non-ferrous marine fittings that make wonderful conversation pieces. Hope there are some other scuba/treasure enthusiasts in this area!!!:o

Radventue, Welcome from Tampa Florida. I'm just getting into this here on the west coast of Florida. Everyday looking for new sites, Last week I went for my first beach excursion found a nice set of lineman's pliers someone was using as a fishing sinker? Brought them home oiled them up and now they are in my tool box.  Today I was in a fresh water lake. One that had a pavilion 40 years ago when I was a teen. Only find was a 50 cal shell.

Your post made me think about a bronze steam ship propeller from the 1880s that was found in a sink hole north of here. About 2 feet in diameter well corroded but still serivcable. The story is the boat operated on Lake Alachua hauling passengers and freight from one side to the other of this big lake. One day a hole opened up in the bottom of the lake and the lake disapeared. The lake is now a grassland with horses and cattle on it. Scuba divers came up with the Propeller solving the mystery of what happened to the boat.
