Go Up Go Down

Been struggling with frozen ground for 3 weeks and finally can hunt almost anywhere in the area.  Now it wants to rain every day.  Off to a great start in a virgin church grounds.  Hopefully my photos of last night and totals for year will post.  Wisconsin-digger{alt}[/img]

Nice finds there.  I am coming up there in June to the old homestead.  Hope I can unearth some of that lost treasure as well.

It's not anything Etrac owners have not heard before but the Etrac is quite amazing on how it isolates coins.  At first I was hunting with my son who was using my Garrett and he could pick up all the signals I got.  As we pulled more and more coins I was finding coins 10 to 1 and he was not able to pick up most of the signals I got.  My work will get harder as the New Virgin ground runs out.  Thx for the note.

It's hard to explain to people who do not hunt how cool it is to dig up coins that have been in the ground for 60 or 70 years especially when it is silver.  I've had 3 friend that used to kid me about it who now have bought a detector.

I am heading to Dodgeville, in SW Wisconsin.  Grew up there and will be there the first couple weeks of June then on the SD and back down to Hades...i mean Tucson. Undecided

I am hoping to hit some of the old sites my father and I went detecting in when I was a kid.

Never been to Dodgeville, but it appears we are following the same paths.  I spend most of my time revisiting places I use to hunt as a kid with my Dad.  he did not leave me much but he did miss a few spots.  I am nearer the Fondulac area if your familiar with that area.  Good Luck

Go Up Go Down

Been there a couple times but not familliar.  Times have changed but the memories are dear to me.  I am going to look up an oldtime detectorest there, I am not sure if he is alive but I remember him spanking me with finds last time I went with him to an old, old fair grounds.  I was hoping to revisit it with him as well.  At the time he had a Whites Spectrum, I had an old vlf that I couldn't run for the life of me.  LOL, he probably will again!   Just hoping to touch bases with him or  his boys who I used to run with.  Dads been gone for nearly 20 years now and it has been more than that since we hit some of the sites I am considering.  From what we found back then, there should be plenty of old finds still in the ground. The old timers back then, which I am close to being, were the ones to remember what used to go on there, are all gone. Undecided  I just hope I can find some of the places again.
Will fill you all in if anuthing turns up.
