Go Up Go Down

Hi all,

My interests are electronics, navigation and communication. Recently I started lurking MD sites for ideas and found that there are many interesting facets to this, and a chance for a great hobby.

Regulation here is a bit tricky and, as you most probably know already, using MD in Croatia is mostly prohibited and unknown. There is a slim chance of things becoming better with advent of joining the EU, but most probably not. We'll see.

In meantime I intend to play with MD's and learn how to improve them, perhaps a little "underground" hunting and stuff. Some kind of "concealed carry" came to mind

See you around

Welcome from Arizona.    Must be "fun" trying to pursue the hobby in a place where using a metal detector is so heavily regulated....Definitely a view of the future that lies in store for the rest of us if we don't keep an eye on our legislators and administrators.

Yeah, law says I can clean nails and stuff from my backyard with any kind of MD I like, and in any other place if I'm authorised by the owner, but public areas are off limit. Or some turbo special permit must be issued, which is a no go for an amateur.
However, no one can stop me from doing something so obvious as roaming around, and by pure chance find something that I "eyeballed" by pure chance alone  Cheesy
Anyway, I think I already have some candidates for concealed carry MD; two box comes to mind and some. I intend to "enhance" my sneakers with some search coil and see how it works. Or maybe a ferrite rod or two. We'll see.

There are also some rivers that are known to contain gold, of which Drave is the most promissing, but guess what - you need a permit for prospecting as well. There is a village with a few elderly people that still prospect for gold, and even some tours for visitors are organised. They say it is more interesting than similar tours in Australia because they always find gold. And they use mercury for extraction. Being a traditional craft - those villagers are exempt from obtaining any permits for prospecting.
