I found this site by searching for Yoakum's. But also metal detect..are there any good sites you know of to detect in Myrtle Creek, Oregon? I do search the rivers for gold. And sometimes pan for gold..

People have gone gold crazy here, I see people along all these rivers daily, camping out or just dropping by. I have found bits of gold, but nothing of really great value but then I only have just started.

hotter'n blazes......anybody with functioning brains is going to stay inside  between 9am and 8pm   Sad    but if I can't be out hunting, at least I can be researching and planning for the hunts once it does cool down.

Welcome to the site!
I have wanted to try some gold panning also, but not much in north-central Texas.
I would look for any old mine sites.  Can be profitable to work the old tailings or discard pile. 
As always research is the key.
