These two tins were given to me many years ago. Just thought someone may be interested in seeing them.
The first one is a tin that held chocolate, and was given to the troops in world war II at Christmas in 1941. It was given out by the "South African Gifts and Comforts Committee".
On the front is the pictures of Jan and Isie Smuts, the then President.
The 2nd tin is from "Beacon Chocolates" and is cellebrating the Pretoria centenery 1855 - 1955. This tin has 4 photos on it 1) Union Buldings 2) State House 3) Voortrekker Monument 4) Kruger Monument. Around the outer edge are small sheilds with historical information in them. This tin is badly scratched, but still readable.
