I can't determine if you are asking us or telling us.

It's customary to introduce oneself here before launching into a sale campaign.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I tried one in the Caribbean a couple of weeks back. Lacked depth compared to my standard P.I. and the user was regretting not having paid out a little more for the Deepers (2/1 or is it 1/2). I would rather have a specific land and another specific salt beach detector with more performance rather than go in for coil swapping. Youalso have a back up just in case one goes wrong.

You could hang on for the Pulse Devil, its managed full range discrimination and pulse depth from one lightweight unit.

even no discrimination, coz discrimination on pi is useless. and the most important is the effectiveness and performance on detecting metal.

Pulse Devil has full range discrimination though there is to be a cut down version with just iron rejection. There is a bloke called Goodmore who is a self styled expert on P.I.'s having bought his first (a Headhunter) a year back who tries to muddy the water by saying its vapourware (his words).
Below is some vapourware sat on my settee.

I should have the cutdown/cheaper version to try against my Deepstar, Beachscan, Whites D.F., Goldquest etc very soon. There's been several discriminating coinshooter P.I.'s in the past but either they didn't work well like the Adonis or are dependant on a seperate discrimination circuit having to be switched in (Groundhawk) or IB/TR discrimination by meter such as the Pulse Analyst or Eric Foster's P.P.D.1.

Back to the Grizzly Twin. All the other Grizzly models seem to be re-labelled Chinese models. I assume the distributor bulk buys. If you buy enough the Chinese will call a detector anything you like. Chinese, unlike Polish or Bulgarian brands, are a bit of a worry so try before you buy. The Twin P.I. seemed good quality in the control box/chestmount but did have the cheap Chinese style shaft and armrest. The plus for me with the Deepers version is that when it launched they pointed out that it would not match the best P.I.'s or VLF's so you knew what you were getting.

If you see either in use its still worth asking for a try.

I don't know which Grizzly Twins you're using but I've already gone down over 6ft using the 1meterX1meter coil.I've gone down over 15inches in the IB mode.Just bought it last month from Bulgaria and shipped to the USA.When used in IB mode with 18"DD coil I haven't seen any detectors on you tube that this doesn't blow away.I will challenge any detector to out perform this and I own a Fisher F75 SE and it out performs that.

AARRrggghhhh- I'm lost also =) But I'll be picking up all I can learn about PI units and the possibility of discrimination on them other than ferrous or non ferrous.

Hi there Frank, could you please comment on the following points?

1) How was the Bulgarian company's response to your purchase? Did they delivery promptly etc?

2) How is the packaging of the Grizzly? Was it well protected by styrofoam or other kind of cushioning ? Was the box sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of international shipping?

3) What kind of guarantee did you get with it?

4) Blackhat had commented on the build quality of the machine. What's your opinion?

5) How well does the Grizzly perform in areas with a clay subsoil?

Avision4u2liveby, you may find this article interesting to read:

. Of particular note is the final paragraph on page 2. That was written back in 2003, and for the most part, still holds true as far as I know. A PI machine with discrimination other than ferrous bias seems to be the "holy grail" for us (and I'd love to own one!).
