Go Up Go Down

Hi
Im planning on making a PI detector, I want to locate small items of aluminium from cans (soda and beer cans)
I`m planning on making the objects go through the coil, and detect it there. But there are so many diy kits and so on.. what is the best one for this job?? The smallest items i need to detect will be pieces of about 1-1,5x 1- 1,5 cm (0,5x0,5ft), and the coil could not be smaller than about 20cm (0,65ft)..

Thanks for all feedback:)

Is this going to be the sole purpose of the Detectors life ?   As in like a Processing Plant situation ?

We have a number of circuits that could fit that bill.  Even the most Basic of Basic could be up to that task/

hi it will be about 20cm, and it will fall through the coil, and on to a belt.

I don't know why the MPP (minipulse) or Surf Pi wouldnt have worked in this situation. Both work well and can be modified to change timings etc quite easily.

Yes, I also hoped that would work, but it only get the big pieces... What would you recommend to set the timing and so on at? On mpp I can adjust the pulse width and time etc.. and what is the best way to make the coil? My coil is 409uh (messured) and 2,3ohm..

search for clone pi w, it has led bargraph indicator, you can use higher level led output from microcontroller to switch a releay via transitor, so you can swith some electronics after
if you use it in a lumber fabric it could be integrated to stop the belt where the wood is transported
