keep in mind, dp is deeper pi md, it is working good on big targets and operating at low freq 100hz-400hz. so, you must know your target. 45cm for coins not good. try metal box 12"x8"x6". max detection underground at any soil condition is 5ft even on salt water.(in 45cm coil) i tried it in my dp.

ram,

ramso,

ram,

ramso,

Dear Ram, your DP didn't have instability problem?

yup, it din't experienced instability. i use 12volts 7ampere motorcycle battery MF12. then i used lm337 adjustable negative regulator for exact 10.6volts. i din't use the resistor 1ohm from positive 12 supply going to mosfet. i use irf740. idin't use the high voltage diode in series to mosfet going to coil. mentioned resistor and diode and the unregulated negative 10.6 volts can cause to my dp instability. and i set it on 100hz operating frequency for big targets.

also in my experiments, i tried the tl082 it has better stability on urban areas w/electric post and high electrical distortions.

Thank you very much for your reply Ram. would you please explain this negative -10.6V more. where should we inject it and should we remove some parts from circuit? I appreciate if you explain on schematic.

remove those parts, resistor,hi voltage diode at the mosfet.

remove those two diode at power supply negative, replace it with lm337 adjustable negative regulator and adjust to 10.6volts negative to supply the board. only negative 12volts will directly go on mosfet source.

Ram, you can't just add an LM317. It requires a lot of support circuitry.
