No, everything is not fine, not by a long shot, but keep this in mind: living in Europe is BY FAR more open and has a better quality of life than most parts of the US (small parts of the Northeast being the exception). Is it perfect? NO WAY! language, customs, traditions, all that jazz. It can be a real drag, trust me. However, where I live, the Czech Republic, is considered "the east" by other Europeans, and it's still a beautiful place. I can, and after an hour, will, walk out my door and meet friends on the grounds of an old castle (Vyserad) overlooking the city, friends from all over the world, we'll drink beer (legal), talk BS, launch some fire balloons (legal), maybe smoke some funny cigarettes (legal), listen to the radio, Katharine and Elizabeth will work on their tans (topless legal), watch the sunset, hit the pub and then I'll take the train home at 12 (ticket for 61km back to Kolin from Prague? $4). That's not slavery. That's freedom.
     
     America has began her final bow. It was good while it lasted, but the reason it's begun to fail so fast is that corruption has COMPLETELY taken over the government. It was there all along, however these days the powers that be have pretty much pulled the gloves off. Is the EU corrupt? HA! Listen to BBC.com/worldservice, you'll hear about some corruption allright! What makes the EU different is that we are UNITED, all Europeans (and I'm not even a real one, born and raised in Elon, Virginia), and we think as one, not like the US where people are African-American, Latino-American, Irish-American, Democrat, Republican, straight, gay, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Northern or Southern. What happens when things go sour in the US? They complain. Here? STRIKE! REVOLUTION! BROKEN WINDOWS! In the end? People still have the power here. My friends are from all over the world, Germany, Czech, Slovak, UK, USA, France, Japan, China, Austria, Canada, and we all live here, and we feel the same I think. The Czech Republic was once Czechoslovakia. What happened here in November 1989? Google it and see. Try to pull off a revolution in the US, you'll be crushed in 15 minutes.

     I know things are tough in the US, but don't try to drag us down into it. Nobody is going to become a slave here, although you are tasting the first of it where you are. The EU currency, the euro, is fast distancing itself from the dollar, as are many other countries currencies, which is why the dollar is tanking. You DO live in a police state now. What can you do? Get out while you still can. Seriously. Edward

  Interesting stuff !! Just reading about the US debt levels in $1 I think it will go around the moon and back to earth and then again! in $1000 bills its about 90km high, back in the 1980's it was around half that level approx.
 Then you have a speed boat over 1000 ft long similar size of an air craft carrier, crew of about 15-30
 departs China for the US full of containers for wall mart... returns empty.
