Basement Chemistry for the Prospector

This takes the guess work out and the hazard if you follow directions.

I have been away from Mining a long time and trying to renew a lot of Cold Storage Knowledge, a refresher course in mining, Kinda, nothing like doing it. In looking around different sites and forums I ran across this. Everyone here I'm sure has been there and is fully aware of it. Seeing how I didn't know , I thought a newbie could use the information. I sure can use it. Hope it helps someone.

Nice informational website but as someone who has a background in chemistry- I don't recommend a person without any experience whatsoever try any of these procedures without having a knowledgable person to go through it a few times. Safety is the paramount issue and some of these chemicals are very dangerous.

Hey Chuck....This chemist has a lot of information. I don't mine to much anymore but the knowledge is still there.I have used mercury for about 40 years. You need to know how to use it then respect it. I always am aware of animals and children that may appear in the area while I am using it. That has been the main fear about using it.I have the procedures  I use to process black sand and if anyone wants a copy I will E-mail it to them....Art

Mercury is one of the most dangerous chemicals to use. I can't even be around it anymore since I break out with a rash. Anyone using this should have an EXTREMELY GOOD ventelation system.
