I'm looking for a source of good concentrates. Is there anyone besides Felix that will provide you with good concentrates for a fair price. I picked up a couple batches that were very disappointing. $50.00 for $12 worth of gold. I would like to find something to keep me busy during the long midwest winter.

Maybe you could contact one of the prospecting clubs or a recreational mining outfit like crow creek mine, ak  or  moore creek mine, ak there are a lot of them in the us you could also check e-bay but be careful and check feedback before you buy.Foiled

That is how they make their money. That is the best way to sell placer gold and there are many people out there doing it. Just have to salt some classified gravels with a little bit of gold and voila! You are now selling gold for 4 times the spot price. What I do is save all of my cons from prospecting to more thoroughly seperate throughout the winter. A better project for winter would be to build yourself a piece of motorized equipment to play with in the summer as well as doing some homework on some good prospects.

Goodluck

With gold approaching $1,400 per fine troy ounce, I doubt if any dealers are going to take the chance of sending you un-panned concentrates.  They will likely salt their already panned concentrates with a few small pickers and some fines and sell the salted concentrates at a high enough price to make a profit.

I just placed another order with these folks.

$30/bag, This place is offering FREE SHIPPING for Christmas!
I've been really happy with their Paydirt.

I've bought and been disappointed off ebay of most of the "Paydirt" I have ordered off of there.  They will show you pans of pickers and you'll end up with a few flakes and mostly powder gold that you will need a spiral wheel or blue bowl (I have both) to get at!  (This includes Felix.  His included a few more flakes than the rest.)  I have rarely gotten "skunked", but neither have I broke even on a good deal of it, (My opinion.)  With quite a few of the Paydirt sellers on ebay, I feel that I would have been better off if I just had spent the money and bought some nuggets.  (What fun is that?)  The hunt for gold brings out the gambler in all of us!  (Kind of like Wildcatters in the oil field.)

Here's a guy who "salts" his concentrates, but everyone I have talked with said you will end up with more (gold weight) than what he advertises.  I have not yet ordered from him.

Here's a place that I always end up with a nice (Either big picker or small nugget which ever you want to call it.)

This is a really good place, they "salt" their paydirt as well, but they also have some good sales, so I feel that you get your money's worth.

I have tried just about everyone.  Right now I live in an apartment and I classify to -20, the concentrates first and just put away in 5 gallon buckets to be run later through my Blue Bowl or Spiral Wheel.  (I start to move in a few weeks into a condo. Smiley )  The big stuff, I have been panning out.  I have been buying Paydirt to play with and to hone my panning skills.  (I just got back into prospecting after a 40 year absence!

Let me know what you think if you try some.

Go Up Go Down

Since October, I have been buying concentrates from I think everyone on eBay & the net.  I'm with Runningwolf when it comes to paying $50 and MAYBE getting $12 worth of Gold.  However, even when you dig your own dirt, there's no guarantee that you will find Gold.  (But at least you didn't pay to do it, discounting time and equipment of course.)

I bought a "Prospectors Deal" off of eBay a couple of weeks ago.  10" pan, a little suction tube, a small vial and 2-2.5 bags of "Paydirt".  It cost me $30 and I panned out 6 (yes 6!) tiny nuggets (about the size of the head of a pin) out of the 2 bags.  Now I haven't run the stuff I classified down to -20, of which there was a lot.  I suspect, I will get some micro gold out of that.  I also saved all my cons that I panned and plan to run that through one of my sluices or other concentrators I have.  To see if I missed anything while panning.  However, in the past, I'm been pretty good at getting the +20 flakes out of the bags of paydirt.

It irritates me when I think these buys are buying cheap Kitty Litter and putting a few flakes in it and calling it "Paydirt."  I know, I should quit my complaining and go dig my own.  I will when the mines open back up in the Spring here in North Carolina.  On the other hand it hasn't been all bad.  I have an ounce+ of Gold I have panned out of "Paydirt" since October, and 3 1/2 buckets of -20 to run through.

Gold Fever is a stong addition. You find one nugget and you just want to find 10 more even bigger!  LOL

I can send you some of what I dig if you want?

Not concentrates but gold .

Straight Run out of the hole dirt.

Guaranteed Gold but not how much.

Some times you get a grain or two, some times you get a flake or two.

I'll be going up there in the next few weeks VAN Willing, if you want some.

This is from P.A. Pinos Altos New Mexico.

You Pay Shipping and $5.00!

The $5.00 is just the beer power to dig it up.

I pay the gas on the 60 miles to and from.

I grab about 100lb at a time.

Bring in home and run it through a Poop tube.

Loaded with Clay you have to work it real slow.

Soap, Hot Water, and it's there.  Make that $5.00 for every 10lbs! Postage is yours.

Some times I win, Some Times , I loose.   I keep going back !

No Wonder I'm Broke.

Yep! A few years ago, I moved a rock about as big as me and got 1/4 Toz from under it. You never know.

 Great

It took me 5 hours to split the rock and get it moved.

Here is what you get for most Pans!
