Has anyone used a automatic gold panning machine? If so does ti work well? Also how do you work it and also how is it supposed to work?

Yes I've used several brands. My favorite is the Gold Screw Panner. Great construction, good thick durable pan with sharp spirals and useful bumping action. It can be set up to recover all types of gold from flour to course gold.

Hope this helps.

Just saw this post, sorry it took so long.

We have a little camel - we've had it for about 8+ ( years or so - I would not part with it on a bet.  We have a couple of mining claims of our own, and we take our concentrates into camp at night, and, while we cook dinner and sit around the camp, we run that machine, and have
discovered that there is much gold (very small) that we were missing, that the little camel always gets.  In fact, when we got home, the
very first year we bought it, we ran all the black sands we had through it, and ended up with almost an entire ounce of gold. (just shy of filling up a one ounce bottle).

The best thing we ever did with it was added a little trailer battery with a small solar panel.  We hook it up during the day, and we can run
it all evening, never having to charge the battery. (we have even run it in a few motel rooms on the way home - it runs so quietly, it causes
absolutely no problems).

A little machine like that, and a bottle of JetDry for the water - and your gold recovery will go right up!!

I've used a few and they all want to be set up to there own quirks.

I still have a Gold Magic that was a good machine until a cow stepped on the pan.

I need to replace it.

I liked that one because you could change the belt setting to speed it up or slow it down.

In the fast setting you could run dry material.

Slow as the dickens but worked.

Yea, they don't do too well under cow's feet, do they  Grin Grin

I think they are all slow, and yep, they all have their little quirks - like exactly where to tip the pan for the least amount of black sand making its way and exactly where the best spot is to add concentrates and the best spot to have the water sprayer, but, it works while
you are doing something else, and, it is so neat to have a little cup of gold super dirt!

I have the Desert Fox. These are great machines if you are ending up with buckets of concentrates from dredging or high banking. The thing about these as well as all other forms of cleanup is classify, classify and classify. Spiral panners do great down to about 30 mesh+ then you should use a Blue Bowl for the finer stuff 30 mesh- to 100 mesh-. Later on this week I may have three or more of these for sale (not sure on the brand or anything right now... just sure they will be cheap for whoever buys them). By the way, I would never give up my Desert Fox, you would have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Peace

Sean

The desert fox is a backsaver that's what I like about it. Has a small learning curve with angles, feed, and waterflow. Spend some time at home before you set out with one and you will be happier with your purchase.

I get pretty much the same result from the henry henry sluice I built for less than 50$, but the fox is more compact to travel with.

Most drainpipes have the holes in four quadrants and it can be difficult but there are some that are only cut in two quadrants. That means you can cut them along the line where the holes are and get a segment that has no holes down the middle. The Henry Henry works great that way.

The home depot here carries both perforated and non perforated drain tile. Definitely want the non perforated.

Not sure if they are everywhere nowadays or have all the items listed. I do know you can order online and receive it at your location. 10' of non perf drain tile was about 9$ if I recall.
