Hi, I will be detecting in Yucon, Canada. The claim owner told me that copper is in that area. I will be detecting for gold but, can anyone tell me how copper is found? Is copper found in nuggets like gold?
Thanks, bullseye

Copper can in fact be found in Native form but is rare.

Most copper comes in Ore form.

Thanks homefire, That's some good information. I do have some rocks that look like some of the pictures. I didn't know what it was until now.

You're not alone there, bullseye.   Most folks don't realize that turquoise is actually a copper ore.   Copper ores run the gamut of colors although shades of green or blue/green are the most common.
