When mining be it dredging, panning, sluicing or high banking moving rock around your area can be tough and back breaking if not done with a little thought. Cutting a 55 gal container in half legnth wise is the way to go. After cutting it length wise drill to hole on one end centered and about 7 inches apart and about 5 inches from the cut lip. Thread some rope through and tie a knot the thread it through the other hole and do the same, leaving enough to use as a handle to pull with.

The plastic slides over other rocks easy as can be and in the water it's the same, you just have to put a few good rocks in it to keep it sunk and held under. Once you have done that you have one good rock basket and a spare. I still have mine after 9 years. I use the other side to clean out the 8" dredge sluice box.

I did not mention it and should have, that the 50 Plastic container should NOT have a removible ring type lid. They all come with two hole for removing the contents and one for air to get in when removing said contents. The ones you want to use are the all plastic, no lids. The best ones Liquid is normally what they are used for.

You could probably use the sled for moving rock or paydirt when your drywashing in the desert also. Sometimes you need to move dirt from an overhanging ledge.
