Well, thanks for the kind words. These are a helpful bunch for the most part. The only thing most of us are quiet about is treasure but not the seeking of treasure. Know what I mean?

It's best to operate that way. Should you find a nugget hot spot, keep it to yourself until you do all the paperwork to make sure it's yours alone. Even then, gold has a way of attracting some bad people along with the good. Just be careful.

Good luck!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Shhadetree#1;

I think most of us, here, are interested in furthering the "hobby/avocation" by throwing ideas out and having them come back, multiplied, kind of like the biblical "bread on the waters."

That means, we also reap, as we sow! Its just a byproduct of being generous.

Shadetree#1;

What was the make and model again, a Bounty Hunter, I think you said, but I do not remember the model. I have a users manual, that came with it.

I will have to look at mine and see what model it is... I have a Prizm and a Radio shack, also. The Rad Shak is not a great detector, but it was really cheap when I was really poor!  Shocked

I can not afford those 250 watt, push-pull, clickclik, hyperbalanced jobs! Unless I make my own.

 [welcome]I also own a couple of bounty hunters and they work pretty well! get out there and do some dirt fishing, the worst that could happen is that you could find something and enjoy yourself, I found a Caddilac hub cap at two feet with my bounty hunter pioneer 505 in the all metal mode setting in black sand I was pretty amazed to say the least I have owned the 505 for 7 years and it is still working very well, also I put the small nuggett coil on the detector to see how well it worked and it picked up some small placer gold that I had found while placer mining on the Yakima river. Wise
Keep your coil to the soil
Rick.
