Just wanted to update everyone on my quest to find gold in Colombia S.A. My first day out I was lucky enough to find 3g in small flakes. I found the soil is so mineralized that a detector will not work, so I had to fall back on geology and look for the rocks that indicate there is a posibility of gold being present, digging and panning out the soils left in cracks and holes in the stream always works if you know what you are doing and what to look for. Knowing the weight of the rocks you are handling helps alot so you do not throw away a rock that may look empty but containes some gold when opened with your pick hammer. I will be posting some pictures when I get an oz. or more, also of the streams I am working. One of the problems is
keeping the location you are working out of the public eye so you don't start a gold rush, the area I am working is public, but used for swimming and fishing fortunately mostly on the weekends, so during the week empty of people. mmalaguitarra
