Go Up Go Down

I found myself with some time on my hands on the 1st and decided to process some of the cons from last summer ( I have 4 5 gallon buckets in the garage still). I managed to get through about half of one of them. I got 4 good pickers (about 2.23g total) and a slew of fines and flour. All in all, pretty damn good day.

I have tried to post with pics a few times, but I am having issues uploading them. I will post them hopefully here in the next day or two.

Useing primarily my classifiers and pans. I slapped together what I call "A poor man's black magic sluice" to catch most of the visible flour. It looks like a wooden sluice, but instead of riffles, I took one of the floor mats from the kitchen, flipped it over so the rubber shows, cut it to fit, and run all the fine concentrate down it. It does a pretty dang good job. I will occasionally find a couple flakes that I let out of the pan, but not many. I'll try posting a pic later.

My prospecting partner has a pretty good set up like that.....mini sluice with slow water to start off...then adjusts from there. It cost him about $40 to make, and most of that is tied up in the pump.

Here is the poor man's black magic sluice. The tube is 1/2 inch flexible tube. I had a blown Camelback, so I took the valve from it to control the water flow. Wood came from a scrap pile down the road. Total cost= about $20!

I also have to increase the angle, so I usually prop the head up with a couple of boards. Set it all up at the end of the workbench really saves the lower back!
