Eh, another Canadian, great to see.
I've been doing some research and found the following places in Ontario that have gold:
Kirkland lake, Madoc, Sudbury, Timmins, but they all seem to have been slated for prospecting permits. That site you were given has the information on the permits needed. And the next issue is that you need to drive to Sudbury to get the permit.
All this sounds like a lot of per-work. But, I was also told that joining a rock and mineral club could really help in finding the areas that are free to do hobby hunting.
Do you own a detector? What kind?
