Ok all we all have heard this before time and time again. But when it hits you right in the face sometimes you have to ask your self why did I never look here before....

What I'm saying is I've gotten pretty good at finding that yelllow stuff Panning, detecting ect... ANd living up here in the NW for the last 3 years I travel out as far as AZ and CA to find it. Panning up here in WA I travel 100 to 200 miles sometimes and have crazy mtns to hike up and down longest hike is 3.8 miles one way and not on flat land either.

Well a friend and I took our pans out to a local creek about 12 miles from my house and we sampled three different streams and the one you dont think has any gold was a jackpot!!!  I was shocked because I can not figure where it is coming from.... in the first 2 sample pans I had about 38 pieces of Gold ranging from small flour gold, to 7 large flakes that you can almost pick up AND 3 pickers with it...

So what am I saying, well I feel so dumb because all the places I've been going and spending so much money in fuel I could of been loading my poke up right here in my own home town.... However Im still going to AZ and CA for the nuggets...   So it must be true gold is where you find it...

Yes The creek did have some quartz in it and alot of really rich black sand....

Nice!!!!! it is true though, that elusive yellow metal is where you find it. Glad(and a little jealous)That you found such a great place. I also go to AZ for nugget shooting. Sucks up here in the winter.

Just like you everyone else just kept on walking!

Is it open to claim?

Mr B.  thank you and ya I must of driven over this creek 600 times in the last 14 years....... I will be hitting it alot now...
homefire, No there has never been any claims on it and will be looking into it very soon. This will be a new adventure for me, I never put a claim on any area... but I will be headed up stream (used Google earth) to see where this creek starts there is another small stream that flows into it up about 5 miles.  I hope to find the source that would be so cool.

Nice job. You are lucky I live on the other side of the state, otherwise I would be hitting your creek. Too bad I am surrounded by basalt. I do have an area near me that needs to be checked as well.

Happy Hunting

pdog23.......hope you find the motherlode for your stream (and I hope it doesn't already have a claim tied to it, so you can claim it yourself).

My ISP is in the Poops right now .

I am crawling around at less then Dial up speed.

You need to look at this.

It will tell you if your clear or not.

Sorta!

If it is private lands, you need to styke a deal.

The blm land use map is a great site, been using it for years. That along with google earth can get you the exact GPS coordinates for what areas you want to check out.

Nice find, Perhaps the stream you were panning hasnt been gone over before! You could be onto a winner here if you can find the mother load or even a good patch. All the best with it, happy hunting  Cool

BA, well Good news is there is not a claim on the creek what so ever... I need to do a bit more hunting for the source before I do anything but will be working it along with a friend.

Rick

Happy Hunting!
