Any chance you could reorder one from the manufactuer? Or.... Maybe they have the manuel online and you can download it from the website? Hope it helps.  Wink

i just bought a keene super concentrator which is a recirculating sluice that has a rubber mat that has formed hungarian riffles built into the rubber to create the eddy for the gold to displace. it is very easy to set up it comes with 2 five gallon buckets with a pvc pipe in between, 12 volt pump, aluminuim sluice with the rubber mat in which you can take out to do your clean-up, they even have a hose with a sprayer attached for doing the clean-up. the only thing you need is a battery also i would recommend a bucket to go inside of the five gallon bucket to catch the cons. by using mine a week ago i was able to catch needle point size gold and pin head size, the cost was reasonable in the u.s. with shipping it cost $425.00. my reasoning for purchassing was to seperate my concentrates the quickest while leaving the gold. we had ran about six gallons of 1/8 mesh screened dirt from gravel by a river. it worked great! you can go to goldfever website and look at pictures of the super concentrator. hope this will help!

goldnboy,
By recovery, do you mean "clean up" or are you referring to the mining activity? If you are referring to the clean up operation, then what I do is pan. I start by using a 2 mesh screen and pan those gravels, then I move onto a 4 mesh, 8 mesh, so on and so forth until I get to 30 mesh. Classifying makes the panning easier as it keeps everything the same size which results in going through the concentrates faster. So now I am left with 50 and 100 mesh to clean up. I save these for the winter as that is the time I use a blue bowl in my apartment. A blue bowl can be picked up for $100... I think. If you are referring to mining, then look into stepping it up to a high banker, trommel, or dredge. I have a trommel and a 2" suction dredge. You are going to be spending anywhere from $500- $2000 for one of these pieces of equipment depending on whether or not the item is used.

Peace

Sean

Never seen a Doodle Bug. Carpet is good, but mine's moss on carpet is bettter. Most of the gold is micro-fine and miner's moss is good for keeping that.

Hey Goldnboy...

I am Klondikeike... been mining and prospecting since the mid 1960's...There isn't one recovery carperet that works well in all situations... Yes "miners moss" is a great product....but I have known situations where plane old indoor/outdoor rubber backed carperet did better than miners moss... or burlap better than either one...its all about the kind of gold..its purity and the PH of the water you are using... and the more muddy your water gets from running... the greater impact on the gold's specific gravity..... more muddy water, the less gold weighs under water...and a different type of carpet will need to used when the water is clear...and there are times when just some ribbed rubber will worek extremely well....

And one creek you'll need this type of carpet..and on that creek, you'll need this other type carpet...just try each one..carefully panning your tailings until you no longer find any fine paricles of gold in your tailings...that is the carpet to use...for sure....
