I have put some pics of my gold in my gallery. Made these pictures when digital cameras first came out. Taking pictures of gold is not easy it seems. You have my permission to use them for any positive purpose.

The pictures didn't turn out too bad but you're right - gold is hard to photograph. Nice finds though. What are you using to recover those?

Thanks outback. Goldfinger only thing I have not found gold with is a metal detector. I may try again to photograph the samples of the quartz-gold. They are the neatest to me. The sparkle and shine is lost in my old pics.

Wow- I'm surprised because I was thinking most of your finds were made with a MD. If not- you must be dredging or drywashing someplace- with good results.  Btw- those are some really nice looking pieces. Did you ever weigh the gold and quartz piece? That's a pretty rough looking specimen that didn't travel all that far.

Steve

I should have put a scale next to the samples I guess. The crystal-gold 701 is about the size of a bean. 708 is 'sponge gold' recovered with mercury, it's about the size of a marble. 728 is a nugget my son found, it is about 1/2 inch long and skinny, it looked like a rusty square nail before he cleaned off the end, you can see the gold shinny through, a buddy checked it with his Whites DFX as I thought it would respond like rust-iron it showed as gold though on his machine. Most of the samples are pickers and small nuggets.

BEAUTIFUL PICS ORO, Smiley

HAD TO OF BEEN LOTS OF WORK~AND IT SHOWS.

i ~90% of the time use an xs explorer, great mach & whatever but does not sniff the gold as good as i'd wish. to go for the gold you'd easily be much better off with one designed more than less for gold (OBVIOUSLY).that gp series of minelab has the dual voltage tech that goes DEEP & very SENSITIVE.

they got this button on the handle, that when your detecting(making a fist vertically),no looking for pinpoint-no looking to switch from tracking to fixed, just pick up your thumb and push, keeping your eye on the hot spot.saving time and agg.

you can smash a 14k herringbone on the ex. coil and sometimes hear jack~

but the gp~she'll be giving that eiree sound from 10" or more.

great pics~thanx for the post Grin
