Not bad at all that may be a part of the adaptation.  Clapp

That would let me constrict flow more without clogging. I think I have a pager motor or two lying around in my scrapheap  Smiley That kind of feeder assembly would work pretty universally I would expect. Nice idea goldigger!  Smiley Perhaps I will set it up as a seperate assembly to use on other types too.

I wasn't really thinking about adding vibration to the feed originally, but I was kind of considering adding it to the riffles somehow just to speed up the seperation. A little goes a long way there, and it might actually be as detrimental as helpful.

Still it wont hurt to experiment, got a few months to mess around in the shop now.

I will tell you a secret.... shhhh... if you want to invent, or have a problem, go sit in the biffy, it is always nice and quiet, often warm, and relaxing. The ideas just seem to pop, full blown!  Grin

Seriously! I may be the only Biffy genius, in the world.

And I have another idea, for you: IF the feeder trough tends to block up, even with vibration, a small wheel, at the mouth, turned very slowly, as slow as 15 RPM, would take the clog and drop it bit by bit, into the corrugate trough.

How about this easy one?
100mm PVC pipe and a 12V bilge pump.

Heavy Duty!

I was thinking of "hall runner," but the corrugations are a bit shallow.

I guess I need to get a chunk o12 or 16inch black plastic culvert.

I was looking at some before, but I wanted a spiral.... it was just rings, how ever....

This has been a good exercise, for me, because I have been needing a way to feed a Desert Fox wheel, to use it as a concentrator.

One way around too much water, is  a cloth chute, so water goes through the cloth, but not the gold, and leaves enough water to feed the wheel... or else, use what is called a de-sander, in the oilfield (which works LIKE a "cyclone" separator for dry stuff.) Basically the sand, pea gravel and water go into the (BIG) funnel, set up a spin, where the heavies sink and go out the bottom, yet excess water goes out the top side, like a Blue-wheel.

If you have a big flow, try several troughs, with the flow divided between them. Yes, there are more than 100 uses for a dead sheep.

The nice thing about some of these projects is that they can function as a simple unit, and yet there is always a little more utility to add  Grin

It brings out the inventor in one.... Up here, we call it the homesteading ability, the jury rigger (You MUST not say the N word!), or the survive-ability characteristic.

If you are handy with tinsnips and have sheet aluminum, you can make just about anything

Some people love re-bar wire! It is good for mufflers!

Hi all,
Built myself a goldwheel which is driven by a 12 volt windscreen motor. The sluice extension recirculates the water. The fines from the dryblower are fed into the goldwheel and even the mustard gold is retrieved.
Western Australia creeks in the goldfields very rarely have water in them so we have to resort to methods like this to retrieve our gold.
