Hey new to Canada and looking for some good areas to both pan and detect gold in Alberta Canada. And also if it is still prevalent in the area???

Howdy, goldmember. 

Welcome from Arizona.   I moved your post from Community board to Prospecting Talk since I figured it would get more notice from prospectors who might be able to answer your question than it would at that location.   Other good choices would have been either "New User Introduction", but you'd have a whole lot of messages that were just welcome messages, or to the Discussion By Location:Canada board, but I don't think that get's near as much travel as this board does.
