 Pay TV programe " Gold Strike Alaska" any good ?

 Starts today down here, thought you guys up north may have seen it. i'll  check it out.
 Supposed to be a good bit of ground on their claim, but not sure they know what they are doing lol  Cool

Goldnboy,

If it's the program about a father and son and some other guys who travel from an Oregon town to strike it rich in Alaska, don't waste your time.  They don't come up with much gold but do manage to screw up their lives.  The son thinks he has to make his dads dream come true, BTW it's the old mans idea to go to alaska in the first place.  The old man had prospected when he was young and the kid thinks he has to help the old man strike it rich.

I hate programs like this, all they do is end up screwing up the lives of the poor schlubs that take part in them.  Nobody wins save for the producers, even if the schlubs get paid for it their lives are still a mess with fiendships and families destroyed.

Did a google I was thinking the same one. But that was Gold Rush Alaska. Gramps you are right about those guys. Like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You would think they have thought things out better. I wonder if the show GB is talking about would be following the guy the land owner put in?

I binged and googled and the it kept coming back to "Gold Rush Alaska", no mention of a different show with the title "Gold Strike Alaska."  I reckon we'll just have to wait for a report from Goldnboy.

  Hey All the name of the program is Gold rush Alaska, with the six guys from Oregon. I just got to watching part of it last night. When I finished watching they were on the way, up in Alaska having a few dramas along the way. Think you may have summed it up well Gramps but ill  keep watching  Cool

I have done very limited gold panning and sluicing. So when I see stuff that they were doing wrong you know they are going to have problems. BTW I will be watching the new season if it comes back. Can't miss a train wreck.  Cheesy

 Any one tried up Alaska? We could go for a gold strike next season. looks like some nice country up there. I havnt seen a bear in the wild. That would be cool  Cool

Hey Ghola I think they could have tried a bit of the ground and had some results before  they made the move up. But then the train wreck wouldn't be as good. Perhaps this was done for a beter programe  Cheesy

One thing I would have looked in to some one doing a gpr there. Don't know how well it would work at the depths they were digging, but I would have at least asked about it. Seems it would be better then just blind digging. That and not bring the kids first off.
