I may lack the technical terms, but I am looking for plans on how to make a plunger type sucker for pulling mud out from under rocks to be run through a sluice. I see them in videos. I thought I read something about one here, but cant find the post. Can anyone help?

Found em. Thanks Guys.

I seem to remember some one did a good write up on what your looking for not so long ago.

Have a look in the DIY Board.

I made one out of 4 inch PVC and I think I posted the pics here on how I did it. I made the gate valves inside the main chamber also, it has a  lot of suction power and works great. I think its in the DIY sections but if you cant find it send me an email and I will send you my pics and try to explain how I did it.  williamsingr@yahoo.com

Thanks William, I will find it. I have been overwhelmed with Youtube videos as I wait for a set of pans and a new detector in the mail. I still need to scout some locations with water. Considering a membership with the GPAA.

I like that you say it works good. There are some holes I want to look at for samples. I dont mind building or modifying things. My first detector was for Meteorites. Just a strong magnet on the end of Golf club with the head cut off. I still have it. I modified a small battery operated vacum to run off 18V black and Decker batterys. I want to use it for some crevacing. I have both wet and dry areas so the Pump would help so I dont miss a sample.
