Brian, you see now what happens when you buy a bargain from the reject bin instead of a brand new, $15.00 camera from eBay? Being frugal is a virtue unless you are doing so in the IT arena.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Goldigger1950;

I was raised frugal! One of three kids and a single parent.... I even taught my frugal mother how to shop and get the best buy, as well as best quality..... we lived on quote social assistance unquote, when I was a teen. If I wanted to see a movie, I had to find the 15 cents!

Dont mention hand-me-downs!

My peace of junk has a twist focus lens.

If I twist it so its just about to fall out, I can take photos like this.

Some cameras have a IR filter that can be removed.

homefire;

Thanks a million... I had NO idea it was that simple... lets see 6 pm, too late to go to Walmart today, yup, I got to get me one of those.

We have a bunch of mule deer, that traipse through the yard at all hours, I figure I can use a cheap motion sensor light, with an IR LCD array, to turn on  the array AND the camera, and some way of recording it, you have just brought it that much closer to fruition.

I figure I can use a DVD machine, that can burn a DVD right off TV, to record the events.
