Go Up Go Down

Finally! Got the equipment out... and I even had an extra No. 2 Operator. My brother-in-law, Jasen, joined me for the wet weekend and we did find some gold. I will recommend Eagle Creek Campground near Murray Idaho to anyone who enjoys affordable camping with good mining access. A great bunch of people are at that place and I have never felt so welcomed by strangers. Bob has a great little shop with plenty of the basic supplies, and Pee Wee the camp caretaker was very kind in showing us around. Over the weekend we ran a total of 1.5 cubic yard of material and came up with one nice picker, lots of specks and even more flower. I still have 1/3 of a bucket of concentrates to go through and only panned quickly during cleanups to ensure the machine was running at peak. Jasen was smart and kept his snuffer bottle handy. When I did the clean-ups he was quick to snuff up the gold. A fellow miner took him to educate him on sniping, and while he was out and about I snagged up the picker! At that point I also wised up and found my snuffer bottle to try and catch up. Anyway, here are the pictures.

Peace

Sean

I am thinking I will hit that same spot in a couple of weeks and punch a big hole. Hopefully I can get to bedrock, if not, this may be a summer project. The area is known to have upwards of 30 feet of overburden.

Peace

Sean

Toleary,

It's easy. Just pick a spot and dig until (A) you're tired or (B) you hit bedrock. Run the material and let the machine do the fine work. When I make my trip to Boise, I will let you know and if you have time you can come and join in and see how it's done.

Peace

Sean

I would really like to link up with you and do that, thank you very much.  I was doing a funeral in Weston, Idaho the other day, and there is a lot of your state that I really want to explore.
