Go Up Go Down

I saw a detector for sale on KSL and the picture had about 15 to 20 gold nuggets sitting on the search coil. I was blown away. Come to find out, the old timer that has the nuggets found all of them in Utah. I called to chat with him and he would not even give me a direction to go in. To say the least I am super bummed. I am new at this and I have read many book and researched a ton. But nothing will help me as much as a experienced person passing down some information. When I become a pro you can bet you butt that I will gladly pass on some info to the beginners.

DC, I moved your post to here because with 24 post your not much of a newbie any more, eaa?    LOL

Ok lets see ?

The guy has spent years , a Pile of money, a Pile of time to find those nuggets.

What would make you think he would tell you Where?

That's part of the game.   Paying the Internship, Struggles and Tribulations.

I will tell folks where they can find Color on Open Ground from time to time but I sure as Ell ain't going to point you to the Honey Holes I've Found.

You have a ton of Information at your finger tips starting with this forum.

Tell us your general location and I bet someone will do some finger pointing to put on at least color.

I'll bet you 5c you change your mind when you hit a large patch of nuggets. When you have spent 5 years or so working your tail off for a few flakes a day and hit that glory hole, suddenly your secret place is just that. A sscret. It happens to the best of us and with good reason. As soon as the word gets out, 100 fools will descend on your sweet spot and take everything you worked for and not even give you a nod. The world is full of greedy people who will take what is yours whether you tell them to help themselves or not.

Get back to me with that 5c when you can, mate. I'm in no hurry.

LOL!     I made the mistake of taking four guys out to find some Spanish Reales.     I shown them where, when and how.    They found 11 and I found none that day.    Do you think they would have gave me ONE?  If not for my Time in the Books, Time on the Ground, Time sucking Salt Water Mist, Time getting stuck in the Palmettos they would have never knew about the place.

Yea Right.

That will never happen again.    Grin

As it happened a bad azz storm came through and pushed everything about 300 yards to the North.

The Bone heads stayed on the spot I shown them and never found another thing.

Every time I went out there and seen them out there , I called it a day.

When they were not there I was up beach and cleaning up.

I pulled 12 Reales out in 4 days and was Waiting for the Escudo to show up.

Never Did!   LOL

I still point people to that area but I never say where the good stuff was.

Tell me where you are and I will do the best I can.      Not a red dot on the spot but where there is some gold.

That's how it all begins, my friend. Public land is hard to find these days and private land can be suddenly closed to you if you accidentally invite some nighthawkers to the site.

I live in Salt Lake City Utah. I know most people are hunting up east in the mountains but my heart tells me to stick to the west desert.

Go Up Go Down

I was told go to the center of where you are going and get your compass out. Take a good look at the compass and you'll see four directions N,S,E & W. now put it in your pocket and follow your heart to where you think the treasure is, (B'cos it don't matter which direction you go.. just as long as you can find your way back home).

I always follow my heart and i usually always find something.. even, just recently (yesterday) when i went swimming at the local swimming baths.. i had the feeling i was going to find a ring.. so i put my swimming goggles on and decided to go up and down the 'Clean' swimming pool... found a couple of hair clips, a hair bobble, some sequins and 2x backs off earrings, oh and a little blue crystal thing .. damn, women loose tons of stuff!

anyhow the missus decided she had had enough and went off to get changed, i decided to swim around a bit more ... then low and behold.. whats that on the bottom of the pool.. i dive down and flick the water with my hand .. yup i don't believe it.. its a ring .. nothing special just a clear transparent plastic ring with a picture of a flower (pink daisy) embossed on the inner edge. I did the only honorable thing and handed it in to the desk at reception (to lost property) more because it had alot of sentimental value attached to it (i believe) and the person would be looking for it. (i really should have take a photo of it as proof.. but its too late now Undecided )

This just proves that if you follow your heart you will always find what your looking for, you just need a little faith.  Smiley

This now gives me a total of 3 rings I have found by faith alone .. damn shame my metal detector never finds stuff like that...  Grin Grin Grin
