Go Up Go Down

Due to general deluge conditions in Wales and the border counties I haven't been able to prospect since my last trip in September 2012. However, one weatherman has promised two weeks of better weather, so I am getting ready to make my first trip to scout three new rivers where I gained permission last year. If only I could recruit some keen volunteers to join in the fun and hard work, who preferrably have their own well-equipped campervans. I'm looking forward to great scenery, lots of brew breaks and hopefully a few flakes to prove some sites worth planning a longer spring campaign.
I'm avoiding North Wales on this trip. After a long battle two N Wales prospectors recently lost a civil court case against a mining company over the rights to a well known mine, and the estimated legal bill was £60,000! I think I'll let the golddust settle on that area for a while.
I'll let you all know how I get on in around ten days.
All the best to all my fellow prospectors around the globe.

Thanks. Best wishes for a happy, prosperous and healthy New Year.

Glad to see a bit of common sense in your prospecting these days. Losing a civil suit that cost you a fortune can sort of settle things down a bit.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks GD. By the way I wasn't involved in the court case, so I didn't loose £60k I don't have. However, now that the legal niceities have been sorted out the mining company it has to obtain planning permission and it want's to avoid any controversy which might hold things up again. So, although there is public access to many of the rivers there I'm supporting the company in its bid by working elsewhere.

Excellent idea. It's always better to have a "team" on which to be.
