that 22k gold acid can be used to test for Pt. Is this correct?
The probability of finding native Pt at the bottom of my pan are extremely small, but all the same I'd like to be prepared for the off-chance.

Most Pt Rings are plated with  rhodium .   Pt is a dull color while rhodium shines up most well.

You got that right homie. My Pt 900 ring's not plated and sure don't shine except for the parts with 18k gold accents. If memory serves, I had posted a pic of it in the forum some years ago. My set of testing acids did not come with one specifically for testing Pt, so it's good to know I can use 22k gold test acid if I come across more of them grey-black nuggets.
