Hi, I just wanted to post a link to a resource that for those of you who need to mke their own hammer mills, can find good info on the subject. Note: some of the links on the page are not specifically oriented toward hard rock processing but it is related somehow to it. Enjoy  Cool

I read through the thread on that forum and it seems to be lacking a conclusive plan for building one. They discuss breaking up rock and how it can be done but pulverizing rock is an open question at the end.

In the future, rather than leading us over to another forum, follow the thread that has the relevance and go to that site.

In out very own forum, there are plans for making a very small, manually operated rock pulverizing device. Go to the main page, select resources and follow the breadcrumbs.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

It seems the Hammers are for Grain and Not Rock.

Too Soft.

They also recommended a John Deere accessory that is normally used for sod cutting. This was supposed to break up rocks. Yeah. Right.

Sorry, those guys are tractor guys, not hard rock miners.

Bump - Sorry guys, but the intention was to ignite some thoughts about the process - I apologies for the the misleading Topic title - I mentioned that there is some info not related directly to mining . but of course any knowledgeable crafty person can improvise on that  Wink

( homefire ) Just think about it . if you can replace those with type of blades that hard enough for rocks , can it do it?

Not blades, no. On a very small scale, a coffee grinder can chop small rocks into powder but probably only once.
