This is going to be a bit harder to get to than California and Alaska, right ?

No Sir I am not joking with you and to what honor one owes this dubious distinction from your sparse enthusiasm is beyond reproach, let me give you a lesson, that there is bountiful supply of evidence from Astrophysicists that all of the heavier elements including GOLD,platinum as well as radioactive isotopes were transmitted or cooked from lighter elements due to the nuclear forces which existed at the very core of the exploding stars. The process is still going on presently and can be viewed in the sky at night as SUPERNOVA,which are the scattered remains of exploding stars. This theory accounts for the high concentrations of heavy metals in our particular region of our galaxy. And this offers a clue why many meteorites which fall to earth are found to contain very high levels of heavy metals such as iron, nickel, platinum and iridium.Let me fastforward here,on Mineral deposit formations,us prospectors and the geologistsought to know about the plate tectonics because this has everything to do with forming as well distribution of our planets mineralized areas.Hot mineral bearing solutions are forced upwards under intense pressure upwards towards the surface of earth. Therefore magmatic rock (plutons)has intruded and chemically altered the overlying rocks, caustic solutions further decompose, then on cooling and RECRYSTALIZATION that motherlode contained will replace or replaces the material that was originally there. These deposits are what are called replacement or rather the vein type deposits.America and Canada have been well mapped as well aeromagnetically surveyed which provided an opportunity to the knowledgeable prospector(s)I can only trust that this geological theory can and will help you pinpoint and or target prospective areas to prospect in and around.Geological theory will help you out somewhat but never actually help you pinpoint gold/precious metals in itself due to the many variables involved.I am planning on doing a more detailed and thorough research paper on these reports of which will be limited editions due to my out of pocket expense.Remember,Where does Gold come from? THE SUPERNOVA

I wasn't suggesting that you were joking. What I said was that HOMEFIRE was having a laugh. Most of us are well aware of the fact that a supernova is responsible for the creation of the heavy elements but you forgot one thing. It takes TWO cycles of supernova to create them.

Read up on it and get back to me later. There will be a quiz in the morning.

Yep, Seldom. The lad has a lot to learn. For one thing, his astrophysics is lacking.

The earliest stars in our universe formed from the collapse of gases after the big bang. No, not the TV show. These stars lived their life cycle and eventually collapsed into themselves and went supernova. Their heavier elements (but not gold) enriched the gases which then re-collapsed and formed the second cycle of stars which eventually went supernova themselves. Our sun is a third generation star and Sol's planets contain the detritus of the last two cycles in the form of elements that complete the atomic table.

Oh, darn. I gave him the answer. Now the quiz is too easy.
