This is a reprint by Thomas Penfield on lost mines and buried treasure in the South West. It covers Arizona, New Mexico, California, Nevada  and Texas. Thomas tried to validate the treasure stories that he compiled into his book and tells if he found anything he could mark as a good source. He did other states but I haven went though it yet. I found it to be a very good read and covers a lot of the old stories you always have heard and on some a lot more information.
