My television documentary that I wrote and produced is available on DVD.  Plus the book I wrote on the battle entitled the Brilliant Victory: The Second Civil War Battle of Cabin Creek is also available.  Plus there are other Civil War in Indian Territory items for purchase as well.

Thanks.  We now return you to your regularly scheduled relic hunting programming.

Best from VA Beach,
Steve Warren

In a era where everything was dirt cheap by todays standards- it's hard to picture 1.5 million dollars and what it could buy back then.

Yes, it is.  Grin

$1.5 million dollars worth of sutler supplies today would be worth as much as $75 million.  That's counting for inflation, etc.

Plus the Confederates captured the Federal payroll that had been on its way to Fort Gibson.  The accounts read that the Rebels opened a chest full of Yankee 'greenbacks' which they despised.  Imagine what the Federal notes in that chest would be worth today.  Years later, some of the Confederate veterans from the battle wrote that they wished they had kept that chest full of money.

Too bad they didn't bury some of it for us to find.

Best Regards,
Steve

Perhaps.  Cheesy

You would have thought I would have found it by now.  I have been all over that place. Shocked  Perhaps the landowner's found it.  I know he found a cannonball in the roots of an old tree where I was metal detected one time.  Could not get through the roots, so I passed up a good signal and a good find.  Believe me, I've never done that again.

Best,
Steve
