Hey gang,

A couple of months ago, I served as the script consultant on a television documentary about the U.S.S. Monitor, which was produced by the Mariner's Museum and WVEC-TV, the ABC affiliate station in Norfolk.

WVEC has now made the Monitor documentary available online for free.  It runs around 22 minutes with no breaks except for a short commercial before the show begins.  So when you have a chance, sit back and watch a short film about the recovery of the ultimate Civil War relic, the U.S.S. Monitor.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
